Riley's first "Real" Haircut

Before
After She didn't want to get her hair cut at first but then she was very excited that I was taking her to the salon where I get my hair cut. She thought she was hot stuff.
Trying to get her to sit still was a feat, the clip kept sliding out when she moved her head.
Here's her Cousin It style.

Seeing her new do for the first time, I just missed the giant smile across her face when she looked in the mirror. This was her wow face. Right after this she looked at me and said "I love it!"
Look at that smile! She was apprehensive about getting her hair cut, but then she said she was so happy about her new hair. I was a little sad that all of her curls were cut off, but I guess that's part of growing up.

You can see some of her hair on the floor, I have 2 little baggies of her curls.

I think I'll be back for the instant exfoliation at my next appointment.

Aquarium

This is about as close at it gets to a professional family picture for us. We went to the South Carolina Aquarium in Downtown Charleston today. We have a season pass and usually don't stop for the picture, but I just got my hair cut yesterday and we haven't taken a family picture yet this year, so, what the heck, let's do it. We had a really good time, we always see something new every time we go. Ethan was especially funny. We went into one area and he exclaimed "LOOK FISHIES". I had to remind him, "yes honey, we're at the aquarium." We stopped for a snack at the Sea Turtle cafe and a guy came out holding a baby alligator. The kids got to pet him. I took pictures, but I'll have to post those tomorrow. Riley told us about a new field of work she wants to enter when she grows up. She wants to be a toy giver-outer at the museum. Where she got the museum idea from, I have no idea. So, it was a good day and really relaxed. We should really go more often than we do.

Happy New Year

This is what we did last night!! We went to an early dinner at Carraba's to beat the rush and then got home just in time for Peyton to park it in front of the TV to watch LSU play Georgia Tech in the Chick-fil-A bowl. Ethan was on the computer watching videos, so the girls and I decided to take some pictures. Riley took a few and then I took a few and then the girls wanted a photo shoot of themselves. We had fun!Caroline wanted me to take a picture of her hand, and then her armand her mouth. She's such a goof, she keeps us on our toes! Then she wanted a picture of her ball and the side of her head. I told her to smile and this is the face we got. Riley wanted everyone to see how long her hair has gotten, and Caroline had to get it on it too. Their hair has gotten so long. It's a daily battle with Riley with all the crying that goes along with having to brush long hair. I keep telling her that if she cries I'm going to cut it off myself, but then she boohoos even more because then she won't have hair as long as Rapunzel's. That's her goal. We'll see, I think that where it is right now is long enough.
